Instrumentation & Process Control Systems in
Refineries and Petrochemical Industries. Worked
extensively in the areas of plant pre-commissioning,
commissioning, startup, and run & maintain phases of
greenfield projects, upgrade of instrumentation &
process control systems of brownfield projects,
implementation of safety instrumented systems (SIS)
and PSM/EHSS requirements, participate/ conduct
PSM safety/ TQM quality/ Regulatory self/ internal/
external Audits, develop reliability & equipment/ asset
engineering strategy for ACA/SAP, and plant
maintenance including TAM turn-around maintenance.
Expert in the following areas,
1) Conduct obsolescence studies, propose/secure budget for upgrades, and implement the upgrade of
brownfield projects.
2) Move the greenfield projects from construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and run
& maintain phases, and support Operations to stabilize the plants.
3) Carry out final validation/ functional testing of control schemes & shutdown interlocks of DCS/ ESD/
BMS/ FGS systems, Integrated Turbomachinery & Compressor Control (ITCC) systems, package
systems and approve them for equipment/ plant commissioning and cybersecurity implementation.
4) Conduct technical bid-clarification meetings with the vendors, analyze their technical proposals, prepare
technical-bid-evaluation reports and support Procurement to select vendors and place POs.
5) Carry out Project-Design/ Detailed-Engineering review for Specification Sheets, Loop Diagrams, Logic
Diagrams, Cause & Effect Diagrams, Control Schemes, and shutdown logic.
6) Organize, plan and lead Factory-Acceptance-Tests (FAT) and Site-Acceptance Tests (SAT) for
various control systems, at the vendor facilities/ factories or client sites.
7) Implement Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), develop PSM/ EHSS standards for Mechanical
Integrity, Information Security, and EHSS Critical Systems, develop Maintenance-Operating
Procedures (MOP), and Support Service Agreements (SSA) for Vendors.
8) Develop Equipment/ asset strategy for SAP system, and as part of Asset Engineering, improve the
reliability of plants by establishing a solid system of procedures and policies to run them optimally.
9) Lead/ participate in the PHA/ HAZOP studies, ACA studies, RIS studies, and Root-Cause-Analysis
(RCA) investigations.
10) Review/ approve/ implement system modifications, expansions and installations as part of
Management of Change (MOC).
11) Review/ optimize/ procure commissioning and two-years spares using SPIR documents.
12) Participate/ conduct PSM safety/ TQM quality/ Regulatory self/ internal/ external Audits,
13) Plan & execute regular/ emergency shutdowns and TAM Turn Around Maintenance.
